AXE MAKING TWO DAY £399 (£180 deposit)

£180.00

Ever wanted to make your own axe?!

This full-on exciting 2 day course will teach you how to do just that.

The use of axes can be dated back to the Stone Age and is deeply intertwined with human civilisation’s development. One of humanity’s oldest and most versatile tools; you can have a go at making one! You will be making a hatchet, which is classed as an all-purpose portable axe. So, whether you are chopping, splitting small logs, carving or using it for general bushcraft, it is a must have. You will be crafting it from the best quality materials; high carbon steel to hold a good edge and a hickory shaft for the best shock absorption.

Our friendly professional blacksmiths will take you through the processes of forging, grinding, heat-treating and hafting your hand forged axe.

No previous experience is required but having completed our other standard day courses first is an advantage.

The price is per person and you will be part of a group of up to 6 people with two tutors. £180 deposit and the rest £219 is due 6 weeks before the experience day.

What's included in the price?

A hearty lunch, all snacks and drinks are all included, along with materials and fuel for the coke fires.
