Our most often asked questions are all listed below. If you still can’t find what you are looking for, please contact us.

  • Depending on what you would like to achieve from the workshop you have two options for booking. Our group workshops allow you to experience a great Blacksmithing day alongside like minded people who are also booked onto the same workshop. These workshops can also be booked for groups and parties.

    If you are looking for something more focused towards a specific item you would like to make, or learning more in-depth skills our 1-2-1 workshop would be better for you.

  • You can find us just outside Bakewell in our purpose built Blacksmiths workshop. Find our address here.

  • Jeans that go over boots, t-shirt and jumper (no fleeces, no shorts and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty)

    Foot wear - Steel-toed-capped boots or something sturdy like walking boots.

    No jewellery. Hair must be tied back.

  • PPE will be provided. We will give you goggles, ear plugs and aprons to wear on the day.

  • Yes, there are some lovely b&b's and holiday cottages nearby.

  • The minimum age to participate is 14 years old. 16 year olds and under require a responsible adult who isn’t taking part to supervise them throughout the day. We will provide PPE. Supervisors can bring their own packed lunch, or we can provide one at an additional cost of £10. This is to be paid by cash on the day of the experience. Please let us know at the time of booking in the comments section. 

  • No, you are never too old to do anything. We can help you if you require it! 

  • Lunch and all snacks and drinks will be provided. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know at the time of booking and we will ensure you are catered for.

  • We have made a whole host of items in our workshops including forged fire pokers, toasting forks, knives, candlestick holder to name just a few.

  • Yes- the perfect gift!

  • You can reschedule your experience any time up to 2 weeks before you are due to attend .

  • Yes, spectators are very welcome, we just ask that they wear appropriate PPE whilst in the workshop that we will provide and can come and go as they please. They can bring their own packed lunch, or we can provide one at an additional cost of £10. This is to be paid by cash on the day of the experience. Please let us know at the time of booking in the comments section. 

  • No, if you can hold a small hammer, you can do an experience day!

  • If your voucher was bought directly through us and not a 3rd party company, then we will honor it. Happy days 

  • Don’t worry, we have pork pie and snacks on the go throughout the day.

  • Yes, bring any of your own PPE and if we see that it isn’t suitable then we will provide you with some. 

  • Not a problem. Wear something similar such as walking boots. Leave the heels at home! 

  • Don’t panic! We are very easy-going, friendly lot that will put you at ease right from the start .

  • Yes, we have a fully equipped workshop so that every participant will have their own individual forge, anvil and set of tools

  • Indeed you will, it will last forever!
